Crochet Calc ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we do — and do not — collect when you visit our website at crochetcalc.com (the "Site"). We designed our Site specifically to function without collecting any personal information from visitors.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be crystal clear about what we do not do:

  • No personal data collection: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, IP address, or any other personally identifiable information.
  • No cookies: We do not set first-party or third-party cookies on your device. We do not use cookie consent banners because there are no cookies to consent to.
  • No analytics tracking: We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other analytics or tracking software. We have no idea how many people visit our site, and that's intentional.
  • No user accounts: We do not offer account creation, login, or registration of any kind.
  • No advertising: We do not display advertisements. We do not partner with ad networks. No ad-related tracking exists on our site.
  • No data storage: Calculator inputs and results are processed entirely within your browser using client-side JavaScript. No data is sent to any server, database, or external service.

3. How Our Calculators Work

All five calculators on our Site (Yarn Yardage, Gauge Swatch, Hook Size Converter, Stitch Counter, Blanket Size) operate entirely within your web browser using vanilla JavaScript. When you enter gauge measurements, project dimensions, or hook sizes into our forms, the calculations are performed locally on your device. The numbers you enter are never transmitted to our servers or any third party. When you close or refresh the page, all input data is lost — nothing is saved or cached.

4. Third-Party Services

The only external service our Site connects to is Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces used in our design (Playfair Display, DM Sans, JetBrains Mono). Google Fonts may log standard web server data (such as your IP address) according to Google's Privacy Policy. We have no control over Google's data practices for this service. If this concerns you, most browsers allow you to block external font loading.

5. Contact Form Communications

If you voluntarily send us an email through our Contact page, we will receive your email address and message content. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and will not share it with any third party, add it to a mailing list, or use it for marketing purposes. We do not maintain a subscriber database.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Site does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). Since we collect no data from any visitor, there is no children's data to protect — but we want to state this policy explicitly for compliance with COPPA and similar regulations.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our data practices (which we have no plans to do), we will update this page with a new effective date and clearly describe what changed. We will never retroactively apply less-protective practices to data we've already handled.
